On November 23, the NCOC ER&OSP (Emergency Response and Oil Spill Preparedness) Department and “Abi Petroleum Capital Kazakhstan” (APC) contractor organized a joint Winter Preparedness Workshop for both NCOC and APC employees.
Held at Eskene West, the workshop started with an introduction speech made by ER&OSP Manager Andre Zhelensky. In his speech, Andre encouraged colleagues to keep themselves safe and prepared for the upcoming season wishing everybody a safe winter 2017-2018. This event also underlined necessary improvements of Company Safety Culture in line with the NCOC Vision of being a leader in HSSE and support with integrating contractors’ activities into the wider Company HSSE Management system.
Topics covered at the workshop were: Winter Season Personal safety, Site Hazards Management, Driving Safely and Effects of Cold Weather on critical ER equipment and its consequences, followed with open discussions of Golden rules.
All attendees exchanged their personal experiences in terms of winter preparedness.
The workshop ended up with recognition awards presented to those participants who actively took part in an open discussion. This was followed with a closeout speech of Rasul Omar, Safety Superintendent, and Amir Ali, Onshore Site Manager. Amir congratulated the APC personnel for being the first contractor company to deliver such event at site level and shared his expectations from Safety team to follow up with other companies for the same commitment. The NCOC representatives expressed their gratitude to APC HSE specialist - Ralina Kabylova, and those who contributed to the organization of the joint event as part of the Company’s Safety Culture Improvement initiative.
